Terms & Conditions

Last updated 08/06/25

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern the booking and attendance of wine tasting events operated by Black Wine Club ("we", "us", "our"). By purchasing a ticket or attending one of our events, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

2. Ticket Purchases

All tickets are subject to availability and are only confirmed upon receipt of full payment.

Tickets may not be resold for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

3. Age Restrictions

Our wine tasting events are strictly for persons aged 18 years or over.

We reserve the right to request valid photographic identification at any event. Anyone unable to provide satisfactory proof of age may be refused entry without refund.

4. Cancellations, Refunds and Transfers

Tickets are non-refundable.

If you are unable to attend an event, you may transfer your booking to another available event of equal value, provided you notify us at least 72 hours before the scheduled start time of the original event.

Requests made less than 72 hours before the event cannot be accommodated, and the booking will be forfeited.

Where the replacement event is of a higher value, the difference in price must be paid at the time of transfer. No refund will be given if the replacement event is of a lower value.

5. Late Arrivals

We understand that delays can happen and will do our best to accommodate late-arriving guests. However, as our events follow a set schedule, guests arriving after the advertised start time may miss certain wine pours, food pairings, or parts of the tasting experience.

Unfortunately, we are unable to repeat tastings or reserve servings for late arrivals, and no refunds, credits, or transfers will be provided for any part of the event missed due to late arrival.

6. Event Changes, Minimum Attendance and Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to amend event dates, times, venues, presenters, or event content where reasonably necessary.

Some events are subject to a minimum number of bookings in order to proceed. If insufficient bookings are received, we reserve the right to reschedule or cancel the event. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of any such cancellation or rescheduling.

If we cancel or reschedule an event for any reason, customers will be offered either:

  • A transfer to an alternative event; or

  • A full refund of the ticket price paid.

Our liability shall be limited to the ticket price paid and shall not extend to travel, accommodation, loss of earnings, or any other consequential costs.

7. Attendance and Conduct

We reserve the right to refuse admission or remove any attendee whose behaviour is deemed unsafe, disruptive, offensive, intoxicated, or likely to negatively affect the experience of other guests.

No refund will be provided in such circumstances.

8. Responsible Consumption of Alcohol

Wine tasting events involve the consumption of alcohol. Guests are expected to drink responsibly.

We reserve the right to refuse service of alcohol to any attendee who appears intoxicated or whose continued consumption may pose a risk to themselves or others.

Attendees are responsible for ensuring they are fit to drive and comply with all applicable drink-driving laws.

9. Dietary Requirements and Allergies

Wine may contain sulphites and other allergens.

Where food is served, attendees must notify us of any allergies or dietary requirements at the time of booking. While we will endeavour to accommodate requirements where possible, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

10. Photography and Marketing

Photographs and videos may be taken during events for promotional and marketing purposes.

By attending an event, you consent to the use of your image in our marketing materials, website, and social media channels. If you do not wish to appear in photographs, please notify a member of staff on arrival.

11. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Subject to the above, our total liability arising from any booking or event shall be limited to the amount paid for the relevant ticket.

12. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any delay, cancellation, or failure to perform our obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, extreme weather, government restrictions, public health emergencies, venue closures, strikes, or transport disruptions.

13. Data Protection

Any personal information provided during the booking process will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.

14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
