    One of the most straightforward methods of producing sweet wines is simply leaving the grapes on the vine longer than normal. This allows the grapes to become extra ripe and develop higher sugar content, which leads to a sweeter final product.

    2. Noble Rot

    Also known as Botrytis cinerea, this fungus is responsible for some of the world's most famous sweet wines, such as Sauternes from France and Tokaji from Hungary. Noble rot attacks the grapes, causing them to shrivel and concentrate their sugars, resulting in a lusciously sweet wine.
