1. The Traditional Corkscrew

Materials:

  • Wine bottle
  • Traditional corkscrew tool

Instructions:

  1. Cut the foil off the top of the bottle using the corkscrew’s knife.
  2. Insert the corkscrew’s worm (the spiral part) into the center of the cork.
  3. Rotate the corkscrew clockwise until the worm is almost fully inserted into the cork.
  4. Place the leverage arm onto the lip of the wine bottle.
  5. Hold the bottle firmly with one hand and, using the other hand, lift the handle of the corkscrew to remove the cork from the bottle.
  6. Gently pull out the cork from the corkscrew.

2. The Winged Corkscrew

Materials:

  • Wine bottle
  • Winged corkscrew tool

Instructions:

  1. Cut the foil off the top of the bottle using the corkscrew's knife, if it has one.
  2. Place the winged corkscrew on top of the bottle with the worm directly above the cork.
  3. Twist the handle clockwise, making sure that the worm goes into the center of the cork and the wings rise up.
  4. Once the worm is almost fully inserted, push down on the wings to lift the cork out of the bottle.
  5. Gently pull out the cork from the corkscrew.

3. The Ah-So Wine Opener

Materials:

  • Wine bottle
  • Ah-So wine opener tool

Instructions:

  1. Insert the longer prong of the Ah-So opener between the cork and the bottle’s inner wall.
  2. Insert the shorter prong on the other side of the cork, ensuring both prongs are fully inserted.
  3. Once both prongs are in place, twist and pull the cork out with a back-and-forth motion.
  4. Gently remove the cork.
